Oct. 31—Regains, s.s., 585 tons, Tointon, for Westport. IN POET. Petone, Wairau. BY TELEGRAPH. SYDNEY, Monday. Arrived—Kurow, from Kaipara. There were no arrivals to-day. The Eegulus completed discharging, and ■ailed for Westport at 3.45 this morning. The discharging of the _ Petone’s coal ■will he completed this evening, after which she will take in a load of cattle for Westport. She sails to-morrow. The Wairau went down-river early this morning, but was unable to cross tlm bar, owing to the heavy sea. She therefore returned to the wharf, and will sail for Wellington as soon as the weather moderates. The Moeraki, Atlienic, and Turakina should be within wireless range to-night. A strong westerly gale was blowing at the Hoads to-day, raising a heavy sea. Up to a late hour this afternoon there was no sign of the Maroro. and it is thought that she is sheltering somewhera - to the southward.
