BOROUGH COUNCIL.
The, ordinary meeting of the Council was held on Wednesday evening. Present : The Mayor, and Crs Org m, Sheahau,' Blackloek, Btitt, Whyte, and Munson. connESPosDKScrc. From J. Corr resigning his office as assessor* From E. J. o'Conor (telegram)—
" Have made formal application to Colonial through Provincial Secretary for reseives with map streets on the property of tho Queen horough legal custodians." From the Superintendent (telegram) —" Municipal Beserves.—From interviews with Minister of Public Works I believo there will now be no objection to comply with my request last year, to issue grants to Corporation. I have written officially requesting that it may be done forthwith." FIRE BEICABE Consideration of the request of the Brigade that the Council would clear the approaches to the river' from Palmoislon street, so that a supply of water might be;available in cases of fire, was postponed for report of the Public Works Committee. prison ia'bor. Proposed by Cr : Whyte, seconded by Cr | Munson, and carried, " That tools be provided for prisoners for the purpose of clearing streets within the Borough." ACCOUNTS. Accounts for labor and material supplied, £32 Is 6d, were passed for payment. NOTICES OP MOTION. By the Mayor—For the appointment of an Inspector of Nuisances. By the Mayor—That an address be prepared and forwarded to the Honorable tho Premier expressive of the satisfaction of this Council at the initiatory action taken with a view to the abolition of provincial instilntions. By Cr S.fcitt—For the appointment of an Inspector of Boats. By Cr Munson—That it is desirable that the Council acquire all wharfs and wharfage rights now belonging to Mr D. M'Leod within the Borough of "Wcstport. SPECIAL MEETING. At a special meeting hold for making regulations under the XLII Schedule. Parts I, to X subdivision 4, were adopted.
