The Edward left the wharf earlier Saturday than at first intended, on account of the barometer indicating stormy weather. Capt. Whitwell being anxious to make Greymouth before the storm set in. However, after taking a look at the Bulb r liar he thought it inadvisnble to proc< cd, and brought tho boat back to her moorings, Sho left last evening for Greymouth. Until a strong fresh occurs in the Ilokitika river, to clear the present almost impracticable bar, the Anchor Line of steamers will not go further south than Greymouth. The ship Adamant, with the first batch of immigrants for Nelson, left Plymouth on Gth May last and should shortly show her numbers off Nelson harbor.
