A short time ng'o a man named Elliot was killed between Launceston and llobart Town by an accident to the coach on which he was a passenger. There was opposition on the road at the time, and the rival coaches were racing when the accident occurred. The widow brought an action for damages against the coach proprietor, and the jn.y found in her favor, awarding her £-500.
