night, and as a punishment her father striped her naked, thrashed her with a stick, and afterwards tied her with a rope to the wall of his hut, and left her there for several hours. He was brought up at tho police office, Fingal, on the charge, and fined £lO and costs, iho magistrates informing him that if he ever appeared before them again on a similar charge, they would inflict the heaviest fine they coul.l give.
