FIRE WORKS.
( To the Editor oj the Weslport Times.) Sib, —I think it is time that the at. tention of the Municipal authorities was directed to the frequent discharge of crackers in the public streets, all the lads of the town seem to spend their spare cash on these things, and carry them about in their pockets with loose matches as if they were as harmless as marbles. How is that such young lads as I see with these stupid fireworks are allowed to buy them ? Have the storekeepers who sell them a license to do so 1 If so they surely ought to be carefid not to sell them to children who do not know the danger of them. I hope something will be done to put a stop to the indiscriminate sale of such dangerous ai tides, or it will culminate in some poor little fellow having his fingers blown off by a bursting Ckacker. P.S.—I could say something on the subject of " Shanghais." Westport, June Ist, 1574.
