The Groy .River Argus of tlio 10th instant remarks; —"We should think that the Telegraph Manager will now see the necessity of completing the telegraph from the Lyell to Nelson, so as to not only afford an alternative main line for the whole Middle Island, hut to relieve the office at Christclmrch i of West Coast business from the North. Had the wires been stretched' to Nelson the West Coast could now communicate with the rest of the Colony, although the wires overland to Christclmrch were down. And should it again happen, as it has done before, that the main line gets stopped through Marlborough, communication would still be open via Nelson, the West Coast, and Christchurch." In this opinion all residents on the Coast will heartily concur, and we believe that co-operation between the residents on the Coast and in the outlying districts would secure the end sought to be obtained. It is a matter that Municipal Council.-! and members of the Provincial Council, and House of Representatives might, and well, take action in, with credit to themselves and I advantage to thts public.
