His Excellency Sir James Fergusson and Governor Weld have gone on a cruise in the Blanche. The Tribune says the health of the Hon. John Hall, who is now in London, has quite given way. CHRISTCHURCH. March G. A Westland crew has purchased a four-oared outrigger from the Canterbury Rowing Club in which to compete at the interprovincial regatta. It is rumored that the New Zealand Shipping Co. and the agents of Shaw, Saville, and Co. have made arrangements by which the rates of freight to London will be increased from 45s to 555. The Interprovincial Regatta is fixed for March 27th. All entries must bo in the hands of the secretary by the 24th. Events—Champion four-oar outrigger: prize, £l5O. Four-oar outrigger : prize, £SO. Pair-oar outrigger : prize, £25. Scullers race: £ls. Rob Poy canoe race: prize, £SO.
