VIA CABLE. LONDON DATES TO THE 7xu FEBRUARY. HOKITIKA. February 28. The Claud Hamilton has arrived. LONDON. February 12. Six hundred and four elections. Conservatives have gained ninety-two, and the Liberals gained thirty-two scats. Two Conservative candidates have been returned for Middlesex, the former Liberal member, Viscount Enfield, being defeated.
The press urges the resignation of the Ministry. The Kaffir outbreak has terminated.
Liberals have returned about two hundred new members ; Home Rulers, forty-four. The following members of Government have been defeated at the general election :—Mr Chicester Fortescue, the Prcsi lent of the Board of Trade, was rejected at Louth; the Hon. A. Groville, Junior Lord of the Treasury, at Wosfineath; Lord Fitzgerald. Comptroller of Queen's Household, at Kildaro; Mr Ayreton, Judges Ad-vocate-General, at Tower Hamlets ; Mr liilbert, Under-Secretary .Home DepartMienf, at Oldham. Australian securities have improved. The Emperor of Russia is expected to visit London.
The termination of the Ashautee war is expected. Ouo hundred and sixty thousand wool bales have arrived. Five thousand five hundred offered. The attendance at tho sales was large, and the prices obtained the same as last series.
The Queen has accepted Mr Gladstone's resignation. Mr Disraeli is engaged to form a new Ministry. The elections are concluded, the returns show three hundred and fiftyone Conservatives, and three hundred and two Liberals.

ST PETERSBURG. The Emperor Francis Joseph of Austria was cordially received. Tho Czar, iu drinking the health of his guest, said that the friendship of Austria, Russia, Germany, and England would secure the peace of the world.
