In the Lyell share market Break-o'-Day's are quoted at 20s. Central's held for £7O per half share; Lyell Creek's, £25 per quarter ; Oriental, halves, £3O; Central Buller, £25. Forfeited shares, to the number of 3283, in the William Tell will be sold by auction on Saturday at the Lyell Application has been made to register the Central Quartz Mining Compauy, Lyell. The nominal capital is stated at £IO,OOO, in £1 shares, and the estimated value of claim and works is stated at £SOOO. AoDlications have been also made to register four other companies at the Lyell:—The " Tambaroora," £IO,OOO, in £1 shares, claim and works thereon valued at £8000; the « Maruia," £28,000, in £1 shares, claim and works thereon valued at £14,000; The "Long Drive," £IO,OOO, in £l shares, paid up capital, £2 )( 0 ; and the " Stella," £2 0 00, iu £1 bharoi, paid up capital, £SOOO.

Fine silver over and above 2 per cent., instead of only that in excess of 4 per cent, (as fixed by Order in Council of 12th June, 1872) contained in refutable gold will be paid for at the rate of 5s per ounce.
