The schooner Mary Ogilvie has been on the berth at Puncdin taking in loading for Westport and Greymouth for some days past, but by latest advices was only slowly filling up. The Otago Times of the 31st ultimo says : The p.s, Oomerang appears to be making a trade between ' unedin and Lytteiton and the intermediate ports. She completed another trip yesterday, when she arrived at the Port at 7 a.m., -with passengers, and a cargo of grain, flour, and wool, mostly for transhipment to the vessels loading for Britain. The newly built brig Alice Maude, now discharging cargo at the Greymouth wharf, and consigned to her owners, Glenn Bros,, is said by the Greymouth Argus to be the largest vessel that has ever entered any of the West Co'.st rivers. She draws, when loaded, 10ft. sin. aft, and 9ft. 4in. f rwnrd ; is 110 feet long, 23 feet beam, 11 feet hold, and carries 380 tons measurement. She was built in the Manning River a year ago by Newton and Sons. Her first voyage was to China, and she is accounted one of the handsomest vessels of her size in Australian waters. She brings a very large cargo.
