The schooner Janet Grey, having laid up at the South Spit since the 31st ultimo, and obtained a thorough refit, painting, and - overhaul, sailed out at 11.36 a.m. on Tuesday ■ crossing the bar all saiis set wi th a spanking 'breeze. After making a good offing she dropped anchor, waiting a favorable breeze to take her to Greymouth where she will load with coal for Dunedin. Tho p.s. On Tuesday two top-sail schooners passed south, and on Wednesday another was beating down in the same direction. The brigantine ' Ceres is duo here from Melbourne, and also • tho schooner Spec, from Dunedin. The p;s. Charles Edward arrived from Nelson yesterday, crossing the bar at 9.30 a.m. Since her last visit to this port she has had a thorough overhaul and repainting, and now looks quite smart and trim like again. She left for the south last night at mid-night.
