The schooner Kaiuma sailed out on Wednesday morning in ballast, for Greymouth. The p.s. Ooomerang got out of the Ngakawhau Tuesday morning, and was met by the Kennedy en route for Nelson. The steamer Goahead arrived at 11 o'clock yesterday morning from Wanganui, with cattle for Messrs Seaton and Davidson, having left late on the evening of the 2nd instant. She left again for Wangmui at 7.30 last evening. The Albion on her last voyage has made the round voyage from Melbourne and'back again in sixteen dajs twelve hours, the quickest trip on record. On the last voyage up to. Melbourne of the Alham'bra, and when the sl'ip was off Codfish Island, a man was seen swimming one hundred yards astern. The engines were immediately reversed, and the ship steamed back to the spot, but no tvaee of him could lie found. After waiting three quarters of an hour the ship resumed her course. On •mustering passengers and crew, a Chinaman was missing, who was supposed to be of •unsound mind. At the meeting of the Wellington shareholders in the New Zealand Shipping Company, held in the Oddfellows Hall on the 16th -ult... Dr Grace stated that Messrs Shaw, t-aville, and ; C >. were at the present time •making from £200,000 to £250,000 a-year out of the New-Zenland trade.
