MR CURTIS AND MR O'CONOR.
We are requested by the writer to republish the following letter, which has appeared in the Nelson Evening Mail and Examiner; and do so on the principle of fair play : Sir, —Although the Rev. Father Garin denies for himself and Father Binsfeld having directly canvassed for Mr Curtis, I must say that the Rev. Father has put forth a most adroit electioneering notice to catch the unwary. While admiring his abilities in the present case I regret the Rev. Father should think fit to rush into print in support of such a cause, as it is quite uncalled for. As to the debt of gratitude he or any other man owes Mr Curtis, that must be very small indeed. I therefore warn my brother Catholics bat to be misled by this electioneering taanoeuvre, but give their vote so as to
