[Anglo-Australian Press Telegraph Agency] CHARLESTON. Oct, 13. Mr O'Conor's meeting on Saturday evening was numerously attended. Resolutions were passed that the thanks of the meeting were due to Mr O'Conor for his address, and that Mr O'Conor is a fit and proper person to contest the forthcoming election for the Supnrintendency of the province of Nelson. Both resolutions were carried unanimously. NELSON. Saturday October 11. The Waste Lands Board has been sitting during the week to consider applications for coal leases and has adjourned until Monday afternoon next when names will be made public. It is known that at Little Wanganui there has been granted to Tribe 3 square miles ; H. Buckeridge, 1500 acres; A. Pitt, 3520 acres, all granted in one block south side of Little Wanganui, near the mouth of river. It is supposed that at least fifteen claims, extending from Little Wanganui to Westport will be taken up. WELLINGTON. Oct. 13, 3 p.m. Lady Ferguson was delivered of a son on Sunday afternoon. The migration of the White's Bay Telegraph Staff to Blenheim was completely effected yesterday before 5 p.m. Waraiu races fixed for February.
