MUNICIPAL CONTRACTS.
( To the Editor of the Westport Times.') Sir } —In your last report of the proceedings of the Municipal Council I notice a reference made to a letter of James Olive, offering to perform work for the Corporation on deferred payments. As one of the working men of Westport I caunot allow the same to pass unnoticed. The object is plain, viz., to take advantage of pecuniary difficulties to monopolize } giving no chance for competition. Unless if it is considered that Olive has the prior right to all work going on in Westport I submit that there are many men now here ready and more competent to tender for the various works required, and who consider this the most equitable mode of proceeding. A small space in your eolumns will confer a favor on Yours, &c, Pick.
