Discharged cargo and left for Hokitika yesterday afternoon. The schooners Aurora and Mary Ogilvie dropped down stream yesterday afternoon to the ballast ground, anil will, if the wind favors, clear out to-day—the first for Blenheim, and the latter for Greymouth. On coming down ri-er the Aurora struck against a snag when nearly opposite Henley street, but got away again without injury. The recent freshes in the river have made a deep bight in the bank above the Nelson street gpun. and several large stumps of trees are lodgi d therein, to the danger of craft keeping too close in when coming down from Wakefield street wharf.

The schooner Garibaldi, after lying at anchor for two or three days in the roadstead, signalled for towage, and was brought in by the Wallace yesterday afternoon. She brings as usual a cargo of timber, which she is now discharging at the Cobden street wharf. A late telegram from Wellington states that the Rangitoto's wreck is reported as breaking up ; and there is little hope of again floating her unless a break occurs iu the weathet.
