POST OFFICE SAVINGS' BANK

I he Jvew Zealand Gazette, of March 25th, publishes the following regulations foi the banks as above newly establish*d at Ch> ist« church, Lyttelton, Kaiapoi, Tinnru, Akraoa Hokitika, Greymouth, Waimate Westport and Charleston. 1. Interest at the rate of 4 pei cent, per annum is given on £2OO and under J at the rate of 3 per cent, per annum on turns under £SOO ; and in the same proportion for any shorter tin.e on every complete £1 deposited, provided that no interest bo flowed on more than £SOO. 2. Depositors in the Post Office Savingls Banks have dkect Government Security for the prompt repayment of their money. 4. The strictest secresy is observed with respect to the Lames of depositors in Post Office Banks, and the amounts of their deposits. 3. A depositor in any one of the Post Office Banks can continue his deposits at any other of such Banks, and can withdraw his money at that Post Office Bank which is most convenient to him by giving notice of his removal. 6. Money may be deposited by or on behalf of minors. Depositors over seven years of age are treated as persons of full age, bu£, minors under seven years of age cannot with-j draw their deposits until they have reached/ the age of seven. 7.
