The Charleston Herald says: —The harbormaster at Brighton has made application to the harbor authorities to have the flagstaff repaired, also for a supply • f lines, ami to have some mooring poles erected. The old mooring po>ts are quite rotten and totally unfit to hold a vessel iu the event of a fresh in the rivoi. The wonder is that captains of vessels luiv.- not previously complained to the Government about it, as they com; lain enough hep: about the unsafe moorings, &e., and also charge higher for freight on that account. Perhaps after some accident the Government will condescend to look into the matter.
