The brigantine Aborigine sailed at high water on Friday, tlie Bth instant, for ll> kitika direct. On Saturday, had weather prevailing, she steamed into the lagoon for shelter until Monday, when, having discharged her cattle freight, she left for Greyiuouth at the evening tide, and will proceed from that port to Wanganui and Manakau. Captain Andrew M'Kinnon has received from the General Government the appointment of Government Shipping Agent at Dunedin. The office, we understand, has been created with the view of facilitating mutters between masters and seamen, and will, we are toll, be regarded as a convenience by persons engaged iu the shipping trade
