She is likely to ,be a total wreck. The white buoy formerly moored at tho - entrance of the Lagoon, being now rendered • vmservicable by the closing of the old • channel, has-been removed up the river, and placed opposite the stone groin, at Nelson street, on the S.W. side of the river, and is intended for a starting point for sailing ' vessels outward bound with S.W-winds, and for other purposes. The p.s Charles Edward got out of the Ilokitika river yesterday at noon, Captain " Whitwell intending, if possible, calling in • at Greymouth, -having <on board several tons of freight for that port.
