MALCONTENTS.
(To the Editor of the Westport SVmes.) Sib.—There are .yet malcontents among us, ill conditioned" grumblers, scoffers at decent behaviour, maligners, and the like, wbo aveT that a *' hole ■and corner" meeting was held in Westport on Tuesday evening, and say Mat the Provincial Council, members Bhouldhave met on a.public platform, and expressing their views, have wooed the sweet voices of the people. Westport has, to her shame, heard and re-echoed those sweet voices aforetime, and craves no longer for such Watant -music. It was well to avoid
all possible chance of disturbing the present lull in local political matters, and permit our members to proceed on, their mission with outward show of peace, even if rankling thoughts still exist within. Malcontents and mischief-makers would have been overjoyed if by their idiotic jabberings they could have incited our members to angry contention, but thanks to the good sense of the few",'" the leaven thatleaveneth the whole ftumpj" Westport was spared the disgrace, and honest men are satis-fied.—-Tours &c.
