NOW READY, IST COAST ALMANAC FOR 1873. OPINIONS OF THE PEESS. ■ NELSON COLONIST. We have received a copy of Messrs Reid and Co.'b almanac for 1873, and I can fairly recommend it as containing a large amount of useful information, specially selected for the trading and mining communities of the Coast, and therefore valuable for reference everywhere. The type, arrangement, and general " get-up" is very creditable, and this the fifth yearly publication of work, is even better than the good ones that preceded it. NELSON EXAMINES. We have received a copy of the " West Coast Almanac and Directory for 1873," published at Westport and Greymouth by Eeid and Co. Besides the calendar, it contains about 180 pages of information of a highly useful and varied character, including a full directory for the West Coast towns, rolls for the diiferent electoral districts, mercantile and mining statistics, and much general intelligence. So useful and complete is the work, that it must prove highly serviceable to all persons having business with the West Coast, or seeking information in respect to it. WEST COAST TIMES. . It is excellently compiled, and will be found to be a valuable book of reference on many local matters of interest. In alluding to the Almanac for 1871 the same paper says : —The almanac is one of the most admirably compiled issues of the kind that we have yet seen produced ou the Coast. Besides the usual calendar there are 150 pages of mining, mercantile, and other information, besides any number of tables, " useful hints," and such kerns as constitute that valuable volume " Inquire Within." The paper and letter-press are in keeping with the excellence of the production otherwise. The printing and preparation of the work were done by Eeid and Co., of Westport, but the contents are apparently made applicable to general use on the West Coast, or in similar mining districts." INANGAIIITA HERALD. This is the fifth year of publication, and each succeeding volume appears to be a considerable improvement upon its predecessor. As a hand-bood of useful information appertaining to the portion of the Colony where it is intended to circulate, its usefulness cannot be over-estimated, while in its general information the " West Coast Ahnanac" will not bear unfavorable comparison with any of the more pretentious almanacs published in the colony. GREY TALLET TIMES. We have received a copy of the "West Coast Almanac and Directory for 1873," published by Eeid and Co., Westport and Greymouth. This work has now attained the fifth year of publication, aud the present edition is one of the best publications of the kind issued from the West Coast press. ROSS GUARDIAN. It is quite a thick volume, and contains upwards of 200 pages of reading matter, from which a fund of useful information may be gleaned. Messrs Eeid aud Co., of Westport and Greymouth, are the printers, and as a specimen of typography, it does them infinite credit. LXTTELTON TIMES. The "West Coast Almanac," for 1873, has been issued by Messrs Eeid and Co., of AVestport, Greymouth, and Charleston. It is decidedly well got up in every respect, and contains a large amount of useful information in convenient form. TIMARIT HERALD. We have to thank the publishers, Messrs Eeid and Co., of Westport and Greymouth, for a copy of the West Coast Admanac for 1873. The almanac, beyond containing the usual useful information of such publications, has much matter of interest bearing exclusively on the West Coast goldfields. OTAGO DAILY TIMES. We have received a copy of the West Coast Almanac and Directory for 1873, published at Westport by Messrs Eeid and Co. It contains a quantity of information, both of a local and a general character, and is well printed throughout. WANGANUI HERALD. We have received from Messrs Eeid and Co. a copy of the West Coast Almanac for 1873. The book is compiled particularly for a gold digging population, containing every information pertaining to that branch of industry. An excellent directory of the townships on the coast is given, also much of the matter usually found in works of a similar kind. The typographical portion of the work is most excellent, while the advertising support given to the book is full commensurate with its merits. Boss NEWS. This work contains in addition to some very useful tables, a Westland Directory, Farm and Garden operations, The Mining Companies Liabilities Act, digests of the Nelson Licensing Acts, and Westland (Public House Ordinances, Useful Law Items, a Telegraphic Guide, Items from the Stamp Acts, West Coast Statistics, and other uaeful information.
