Tuesday, March 11. (Before Joseph Giles. Esq., K.M.) CIVIL CASES. Bogue re Ashton v. Jones.—Adjourned to the 25th inst. Lavtstte v. Low.—Claim for £6 os4d. Judgment confessed. Costs 13s. O'Conor v. M'Gregor and Campbell.—Adjourned to 25th instant. M'Kenna v. M'lntyre.—Claim for £l4 10s 6d— Adjourned till 25th indtant for hearing evidence of defendant at Eeefton. Green v. Barker.—Claim for £5 3s 6d. Venue changed to Inangahua. Hannah v. Meed.—Claim of £3 10a for rent of cottage. Defendant disputed the claim, pleading that plaintiff had consented to take a less amount, of which a portion had been already paid, and that he (defendant) had agreed to pay the balance on the completion of certain work he now had in hand. Judgment was given for the full amount claimed, and costs 9s. Same v. Bodovich and Stringer.— Claim for £6. Defendants had paid £4 4s Gd into court, and filed a set oft* for £2 9s 6d. Judgment given for £5 3s 6d and costs. . o WESTPOET WAEDEN'S COUET. Tuesday, Mab.ch 11. (Before J. Giles, Esq., Warden.) Trowland and Lennon v. Cornelius Hogan and Party.—Disputed right as to possession of water races on Waite's Pakikis alleged to have been abandoned by defendants, and afterwards applied for under re-registration by complainants, but such re-registration being refused by the Court by reason of the defendants producing previous certificate of registration, which complainants now alleged had been wrongfully obtained, defendants having previously abandoned all right to such races. Defendants pleaded that they had not abandoned, but had only ceased from using the races on account of no water running therein. Evidence was given by complainant that the races had not been kept in repair, and would not carry water, and that the creek feeding such races had never been completely dry. Defendants failed to'prove that any one had held possession of the races on their behalf since Christmas last. The Court granted the application of complainants, All moveable articles on the claim belonging to defendants to be taken away if they so wished. APPLICATIONS. P. H. Thiele.—Application to divert Dwan's Creek, near Black Ball store, for mining purposes. Objected to by J. Lande as being a portion of his race. Application postponed until right tp race had been decided by action on summons in the Court. Patrick Donolan.—Ee-registration of dam. Granted. Edward Henbury and Party.—Application for extended claim as surveyed on unoccupied and partly worked-out ground, west of Addison's Flat, beyond township in direction of Shamrock Lead, Granted, subject to proper number of men being employed thereon. John Blackmore.—Application to register two abandoned tunnels, formerly held by Tennent and party and Harrison and party. Granted. Charles Flannery and Party.—Application for gold mining lease. Ob*

jected to by Hughes, Wartmann, and Pennefather, on the plea that, if granted, it would block up frontages of their tunnels and prevent the proper working. Applicants pleaded that the ground applied for was old abandoned ground, that they had spent £2OO in preparing to Work it, and that two years at least must ensue before they commenced working the actual ground in dispute between themselves and objectors. After hearing evidence on either side, the Court decided that the application could not be recommended.
