POST OFFICE SAVINGS' BANK

The New Zealand Gazette, of March 25th. publishes the following regulations fo> thi banks as above newly established at Christ, church, Lyttelton, Kaiapoi, Timaru, Akram Hokitika, Grey mouth, YVaimate, Westport and Charleston. 1. Interest at the rate of 4 per cent, pa annum is given on £2OO aud under ; at tin rate of 3 per cent, per annum on gurni under £SOO ; and in the same proportion fa any shorter time on every complete £1 de posited, provided that no interest be allowei on more than £SOO. 2. Depositors in the Post Office Saving! Banks have duvet Government Security fa the prompt repayment of their money. 4. The strictest secresy is observed wit! respect to the names of depositors in Post Office Banks, and the amounts of their dc posits. 3. A depositor in any one of the Post OfSa Banks can continue his deposits at any othe of such Banks, and can withdraw his monej at that Post Office Bank which is most cot 1 venient to him by giving notice of his re moval. 6. Money may be deposited by or on bo half of minors. Depositors over seven yean of age are treated as persons of full age, bul minors under seven years of age cannot with draw their deposits until they have reachel the age of seven. 7. Applications to the Chief Office in eaci District on t\c business of Post Office Sav ngs Banks, and the replies sent thereto an free froiL charge or postage.
