POST OFFICE SAVINGS' BANK

The New Zealand Gazcltc, of March 25th, publishes the following regulations foi ihe banks as above newly established at Christ church, Lyttelton, Kaiapoi, Timaru, Akr«n« Hokitika, Greymouth, VVaimate, Westporjj and Charleston. 1. Interest at the rate of 4 per cent, per annum is given on £2<)o and under ; at the rate of 3 per cent, per annum on sums under £SOO ; and in the same proportion fo f aii3' shorter time on every complete £1 deposited, provided that no interest be alljwtd on more than £SOO. 2. Depositors in the Post Office Saving!) Banks have duvet Government Security for the prompt repdj'meflt of their money. 4. The strictest secresy is observed with respect to the names of depositors in Post (>ffice Banks, and the amounts of their deposits. 3. A depositor in any one of the Post Office Banks can continue his deposits at any other of such Banks, and can withdraw his money at that Post Office Bank which is most convenient to him by giving notice of his removal. 6. Money may be deposited by or on behalf of minors. Depositors over seven yean of ago are treated as persons of full age, but minors under seven years of age cannot withdraw their deposits until they have reached the age of seven. 7.
