The Charles Edward came in from southnvard on Wednesday morning, laden with a full cargo of Greymouth coals for Nelson. A few tons of Ngakawliau coal intended to be forwarded hence to Melbourne were ready for shipment, but Captain Whitwell could not take them. The s.s. St. Kilda came in ou Wednesday with a full consignment et' cattle and sheep for the Westport market. She left at 9 ' p.m. for Greymouth. Up to dusk last evening neither the Wallace nor lie medy had shown up, • although both are due, the one boat from Nelson and the other fiom southward. It is reported in Wanganui that the schooner Maid of Ot ago, on her way from that port to Bunedin, has been wrecked fifty miles north of that port, all hands however tein r saved.
