POST OFFICE SAVINGS' BANK

The A'ew Zealand Gazette, of March 25th, publishes the following regulations foi rlie hanks as above newly established at Ovist church, Lyttelton, Kaiapoi, Timaru, Akran» Ilokitika, Greymouth, YVaimate, West port and Charleston. 1. Interest at the rate of 4 per cent, per annum is given on £2OU and under ; at the rate of 3 per cent, per annum on funis under £SOO ; and in the same proportion for any shorter time on every complete .£1 deposited, provided that no interest be albwtd on more than £SOO. 2. Depositors i,\ the Post Otfice Savings Banks have duvet Security for the prompt repayment of their money. 4. The strictest seeresy is observed with respect to the names if depositors in Post Office Banks, and the amounts of their deposits. 3. A deposit,re in any one of the Post Office Banks can continue his deposits at any other of such Banks, and can withdraw his money at that Post Office Bank which i s most, convenient to him by giving notice of his removal. 6. Money may be deposited by or on bo half of minors. Depositors over seven years of age are treated as persons of full age, but minors under seven years of age cannot withdraw their deposits until they have reached the age of seven. i.
