WESTPORT MUNICIPALITY.
The following letter has bean banded us for publication. The memorialists who signed the petition will doubtless feel grateful to his Honor the Superintendent for his promise of prompt acquiescence in this matter : Superintendent's Office, Nelson, 20th January, 1873. Sir, —I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 17th instant, forwarding a petition from the inhabitants of Westpoi-fc praying that that town may be incorporated under the " Municipal Corporations Act, 1867," and to inform you that the petition will be forwarded by the Superintendent to the Colonial Secretary by tho next mail accompanied by his Honor's assent to the prayer of the petition.—l have the honor to be &c.
