Public Trust Office, Wellington, December 30, 1872. TTN pursuance of the powers given by . the seventeenth, eighteenth, nineteenth, twentieth, and twenty-first sections of " The Public Trust Office Act, 1872," any person, company, association, public body, within or without the Colony of New Zealand, way place any property belonging to them in charge of the Public Trustee, upon trust, for such uses as may be defined in the deed creating the trust. Also, that any Building, Land, or Friendly Society may by its rules provide that property belonging to it may be placed in the Public Trust Office, for such trusts and uses, and with such powers as may be defined in or by the said rules. Also, that any person may, by will, place his property in the Public Trust Office, or may deposit his will therein for safe custody only. Applications to place property in the Public Trust Office will now be received. Such applications must bo made on a form prepared for that purpose, which can be obtained at the Public Trust Office in "Wellington, or at any Money Order Post Office within the Colony. The application must describe the nature of the trust intended to bo created ; but deeds and other documents relating to the property need not be sent until the acceptance of the trust has been considered by the Board. Local agents will be appointed to manage the legal and other business connected with estates, the preference being given (subject to the approval of the Public Trustee) to Solicitor or Agents who have previously had the management of the property, or who are nominated by the person placing the property in the office, or the parties principally interested therein. PROTECTION is hereby Granted, under the provisions of the Goldfields Act, 1866, to John Beid, for the term of three years from the date hereof, for a Punt Perry across the Orawaiti Biver, subject to the following conditions, viz.:— 1. That a substantial Punt shall be placed on the river at the site named, within two months from this date, and maintained in good working order during the term of protection. 2. That competent ferrymen shall be always in attendance, and the ferry shall Via o«- -n +;„>,-,„ conductea to tbe satisiaction of the Warden of the district. 3. The Warden of the district may, on being satisfied that the ferry is not conducted in an efficient manner, and in accordance with these conditions, suspend the operation of this protection until the matter of complaint be removed ; and if the matter of complaint be not removed within a reasonable time, tbe Superintendent shall have tbe power to cancel this protection. 4. The tolls to be charged for the use of the punt, between the hours of 6 a.m. and 8 p.m., shall not exceed the followFoot passengers, each ... 0 6 Horse and rider ... ... 1 0 Horses and Cattle, each ... 1 0 Loaded pack-horse 1 0 Sheep and goats, each ... 0 3 Loaded dray with not exceeding 2 horses ... ... 5 0 Empty dray with not exceeding 2 horses 2 0 Government Officers, including Police, Road Overseers, Postmen, and Laborers, when on duty ... Free, Horses required by any of the above mentioned Goraent Officers or persons Free. 5. Double Fares may be charged between the hours of S p.m. and 6 a.m. 6. This protection shall not have any effect or operation until the punt has been placed on the river in good working order, to the satisfaction of the Provincial Engineer. 7. All Begulations which may at any time be brought into force under section 13 of " The Goldfields Act, 1866," shall be deemed applicable to this protection as if it had been granted under the same. 8.
