The Charles Edward sailed at 2 p.m., yesterday for Nelson. The Kennedy sailed at 5 p.m., for Greymouth. The Result leaves to-niglit for Brighton (weather permitting). The s.s. Wallabi having been spliced together in a very substantial manner—she is said by experts to bo stronger than before the accident that broke her back—was ready for sea on Friday last, but the remarkably low tides on that and the following day hindered her departure. It was not till Sunday evening that she was ■warped clear of the bank on which she had been placed for repairs. Tho next morning she dropped down the river to opposite Mr Eraser's sawmills, took in a few thousand feet of timber, and sailed for Duncdin the same evening. She had not arrived last niglit, but as the passage would probably be made under easy stonm, no fears are entertained for her safety.—' Southland News, 27th ult. The s.s Wallabi which was taken into the Floating Dock for repairs last Wednesday, lias since been surveyed, when it was found that two streaks of plating on one side and three on the other were broken. Tenders were called for repairs, Messrs Kincaid and M'Queen's, of Dunedin, was accepted for the iron work; and Mr Sutherland, of Port Chalmers, for the wood work.
