Tuesday, Decemjbeb 3. (Before J. Giles, Esq., Warden.) APPLICATION. Agricultural Leases.—John Munro, for area west end of Garden Island, Buller Eiver.—Opposed by John Martin on the plea that he had applied for the same area in 1869, but such application had then been refused on the ground that section 57 was reserved for a railway terminus. Postponed for surveyor's report. Arthur Luff, Orawaiti ; and Alured Stephen, Waimangaroa.—Adjourned for surveyor's report. John Bruns. —Site for flood machine,
120 feet GO feet at the Orawaita, below Giles terrace. Granted as double claim.
Alexander Grant v. Timothy Calnon. —Complaint that defendant had, by failing to post proper notices, as provided by Part IX, Clause 1, of the Goldfields Eegulations, obtained registration of a special site in Deadman's Creek, theretofore legally held by complainant. Summons dismissed, defendant being allowed costs 16s. Beuben Carne v. Patrick M'Enroe and others, as co-partners at Addison's Plat.—Complaint that certain goods amounting in value to £47 4s 9d ; supplied by complainant, for use in the claim at request of defendants, had not been paid for, and that defendants re-, fused payment. Mr Eisner for plaintiff. Evidence was given that the defendants had absconded, and service of the summons at their last known residence on the claim was duly proved. Judgment given for the full amount claimed, with costs of Court, lis, and counsel's fee three guineas.
