WESTPORT CHRISTMAS SPORTS

A meeting of the "Westporfc Race and Sports Committee, was held on Wednesday evening at the Po9t Office Hotel. Mr John Seaton in the Chair. The sub-committees appointed to canvass the town and neighbourhood for subscriptions, gave in their reports, from which it was shown that the subscriptions already received and moneys promised, though not amounting to nearly as much as on former occasions, were still sufficient to authorise the committee to arrange a programme of two days sports, including horse raciug, and the usual Caledonian contests. A sub-com-mittee consisting of Messrs Seaton, Gibson, Gilmer, M'Keuna, and the Secretary was appointed to draw up a programme, and submit the same at a general meeting to he held on Friday evening next.
