The Prospectors' claim, Stockyard, washed out ninety-two ounces fine gold, on the 4th inst, and a nugget weighing ninety-one ounces, nearly pure. The Big Log Company also washed six ounces from a bucket of dirt. _ SYDNEY. The Captain of the schooner Sir Isaac Newton has been fined £IOO for smuggling at Casino. Hundreds of diggers are returning from Townsville. The fare by the steamers has been reduced to £2. Rapid progress is being made with the new war schooners for service on the Pacific station. Carroll, Beard, and Company, Tarnbaroora, crushed over 1,2000z from 14 tons of stone. More diamonds have been found at Oberon. The past quarters revenue was the largest known here. A surplus of £250,000 is expected on the year. ADELAIDE. A telegram received from Palmerston, states that dissatisfaction is expressed at the alleged non-existence of alluvial goldfields. Many were returning without visiting the fields. Westcott and other miners are satisfied with the reefing prospects, and are collecting quartz for crushing. About sixty men are in the vicinity of Tarn Creek. The statements at Palmerston concerning the diggings are contradictory. All quiet.
