Per St Kilda, for Wanganai—Mrs Sheahan. IMPORTS. Per St Kilda, from Wangunui— 56 head Cattle, 250 sheep. 20 pips, Scaton. Per Lyttleton, from Hokitika—4o/JOO feet of timber, Bull and Bond. Tho p.s. Lyttelton, from Hokitika, arrived in the river on Sunday morning. She brings 40,000 feet of sawn timber from the Westland Saw Mill Company. Tho Dunedin is now loading at Dunedin for Wostport, and will as usual call at Oamaru to fill up with produce. Tho Charles Edward left Nelson at 2 p.myesterday, and will arrive here to-day about noon. The Kennedy had not left Greymouth up to 5 p.m. last evening. Tho Lyttelton left fur Greymouth last night. The repairs and alterations to the twin screw steamer Waipara now being carried out at Peliehet Bay, Dunedin, will be completed in about a month, and tho boat will then leave the slips as good and taut as on the day of her first launch. She has beenthoroughly overhauled, every weak or doubtful timber replaced, and her hull lengthened some 16 feet. On her return to the West Coast she is to,bo employed for a time in tho coal trade between the Ngakawhao and Hokitika, and will as occasion serves call in at the Buller. An agitation has recently arisen among the seamen employed hi Hobson's Bay, they being dissatisfied with rato of wages, and with several other matters hitherto submitted to. A metting was therefore called to consider what steps should bo taken to removo the grievance. The wages hitherto wero £4i a month on sailing vessels, and £5 a month on steamers. At tho .meeting, which was attended by at least. 200 sailors, it was unanimously agreed that no seamen should sign ships articles unless an increase of XI per mouth respectively was agreed upon. In all agreements made since the meeting the increased demand has been aeceded to iiy shipowners, so that this agitation has been expeditiously and satisfactorily settled.
