Mr Shapter, Solicitor, formerly of Charleston, assisted by some of the Eoman Catholics of Dunedin, is taking active steps for the formation of a company having for its object the issue of a weekly paper in the Eoman Catholic interest, to be entitled the ' New Zealand Tablet.'

Among the Carrick Range claims (Otago), the Colleen Bawn obtained 230z from 22 tons; the Elizabeth, 71oz, from 33 tons. The Heart of Oak has paid a dividend of lis per share.
