BY ELECTRIC TELEGRAPH.
(from our own correspondent.) WELLINGTON. August 22. To-day, Staflord made an able and moderate speech on the motion of want of confidence. Eeid, of Ohigo, also made a damaging speech against the G-overnment. Bunny, of Wellington, and others, have also spoken. Messrs Gillies, Wood, Eolleston, Williamson, Fitzherberr, Monro, and Wilson, will speak against the Government on separate grounds. Fox replied to Stafford, and said that his speech was weak, and no grounds were shown therein want of confidence. The defeat of the Ministry is looked upon as absolutely certain.
