(from our own correspondents.) KELBON. June 15. Last night Mr Eeid brought up the report of the Westport Committee. The Provincial Secretary proposed an amendment, but finally it was agreed that people compelled to remove their buildings in consequence of the sea encroachments should be allowed to lease at a low rental allotments on the upper portion of the Coliiery Reserve, and as soon as possible after the blocks for leases have been set apart other portions of the reserve should be open for occupation under burnness lieouses. It was resolved also that freeholders whose buildings have been destroyed shall be entitled ti fresh sections at a materially reduced upset price. The Government to purchase fifty sections to be so disposed of. It is Eecommended that Commissioners and Assessors be appointed to decide on applications for leases or freeholds, according to value of properties held formerly. A. sum has been placed on the estimates for the purchase of O'Conor's sections provided he renounces his rights, and the memorial to tho Governor is in the meantime withheld. The vote of £3OOO for improvement of Westport streets and removal of Government buildings was passed. O'Conor proposed that the motion against him should be rescinded. He spoke two hours, but with two exceptions the Council confirmed the original resolution, The Council was prorogued. On the day of prorogation, the Superintendent, in his address, intimated his approval of the estimates relating to Westport, and said that they would be given effect to as speedily as possible. June 17. O'Conor has sued Messrs shephard, Luckie, Eeid, Donne, aud Guinness, for unlawfully, falsely, and maliciously Conspiring in confederation, and agreeing together to injure him. He charges them with having procured the Council to pass a resolution whereby he has been brought into publie hatred and contempt, suffered great pain of mind, and put to great expense. Total damages one hundred pounds. The case will be tried on Monday next. The alleged conspirators remaining in Nelson meanwhile. WELLINGTON. , June 17. Small-pox discovered.
