(FROM A CO-RESPONDENT.) NELSON. June 12. A scene occurred in the Nelson Council on Monday. Mr O'Conor asserted that the notes of evidence given before the Committee of Inquiry had since been mutilated and falsified. His words were ordered to be taken down, and he retracted. He then said tho notes were false from the first. Theso words were again ordered to be taken down, and he was asked to withdraw from the chamber, when statements of Committee and witnesses were heard as to the correctness of the notes, and it was unanimously agreed that the assertion was altogether an unjustifiable reflection on the honor of the Committee. It was also agreed that the Speaker, if necessary for the maintenance of his authority, should appoint a Sergeant, at-Arms.
