At Wellington, on the 3rd, at a iction, 1000 dozen of ale and porter was sold at 8. t > Cs, <iuty paid ; J. C. sugar, JESO to .£SO 10s ; C. u£ar, £45 10s.
At Auckland, flour has advanced 20s per ton. Canterbury wheat is quoted at 5s to 5s 3d. Tartarian oats, 2s 6d ; Otago oats, 2s 9d; potatoes, £6 per ton. At Christchurch, breadstuff's are very active. Largo sales of wheat and flour have been nvide at advanced rates. Wheat, 4s 3d to 4s 4d ; barley wanted, at 4s 9d ; oats, dull, Is 7d to Is lid. Provisions unaltered. The following are latest Nelson quotations : —Flour, Redwood's, Bridgewater and Rutherford's .£ls; Adelaide, £l6. Bran, £5; pollard, £5 10s ; sharps, £6 10s ; wheat, 5s Gd j barley, 3s (3d to 4s 6d ; oats, 2s 6d to 3s; potatoes, isto £6 per ton. The demand for New Zealand hemp in the home market still continues good ; prices ranging from £2B- 10s to £36 10a per ton. The bulk of the stock in hand at latest dates having been taken for export to America. Tow has advanced to £ls los per ton.
