Miscellaneous. NIVEKSITY OF OTAGO. Classes for Latin, Greek, English Language and Literature, Mathamatics, Natural Philosophy, &c, will be opened at Dunedin about the Ist of July, 1871. There will be no martisulation examination for the first cession. The session will last for 6 Months during the entire course of which Instruction will be given to each class by the Professor by means of Text Books, Lectures and written and oral examinations. The Vice Chancellor and other University Authorities will provide for the proper supervision of students from a distance. The fee is Three Guineas per term for each professor. POST OFFICE SAVINGS' BANK The New Zealand Gazette, of March 25th publishes the following regulations foi the banks as above newly established at Christ church, Lyttelton, Kaiapoi, Timaru, Akrans Hokitika, Greymouth, Waimate, Westpott and Charleston. 1. Interest at the rate of 4 per cent, pet annum is given on £2OO and. under ; at the rate of 3 per cent, per annum on turns under £SOO ; and in the same proportion for any shorter time on every complete £\ deposited, provided that no interest be allow! on more than XoOO. 2. Depositors ia the Post Office Saving'! Banks have du\sct Government Security for the prompt repayment of their money. 8. A depositor in any one of the Post Office Banks can continue his deposits at any other of such Banks, and can withdraw his money at that Post Office Bank which is most convenient to him by giving notice of his removal. 4. The strictest secresy is observed with respect to the names of depositors in Post Office Banks, and the amounts of their deposits. 6. Money may be deposited by or on k-i half of minors.
