POST OFFICE SAVINGS' BANK

The New Zealand Gazette, of March 25th, publishes the following regulations foi ike banks as above newly established at Ovist church, Lyttelten, Kaiapoi, Timaru, Akra<, a Ilokitika, Greymouth, Waimate, Westport and Charleston. 1. Interest at the rate of 4 per cent, per annum is given on £2OO and under ; at the rate of 3 per cent, per annum on cuius under iloOO ; and in the same proportion for any shorter time on every complete £1 deposited, provided that no interest be albwid on more than £SOO. 2. Depositors ia the Post Office Savinela Banks have dlrjet Government Security f it the prompt repayment of their money. 3. A depositor in any one of the Post Office Banks can continue his deposits at any other of such Banks, and can withdraw his money at that Post Office Bank which is most convenient to him by giving notice of his re. moval. 4. The strictest secresy is observed with respect to the names of "depositors in Post Office Banks, and the amounts of their deposits. 6. Money may be deposited by or on hihalf of minors. Depositors over seven veais or age are treated as persons of full age, hut minors under seven years of age cannot withdraw their deposits until they have reached the age of seven. 7. Applications to the Chief Office in each District on t'-ie business of Post Office Sav. lngs Banks, ind the replies sent thereto are tree iron charge or postage.
