The New Zealand Gazette, of March 25th, publishes the following regulations foi tj| banks as above newly established at Ch'irt church, Lyttelton, Kaiapoi, Timaru, Ak>i§j Ilokitika, Greymouth, Waimate, and Charleston. 1. Interest at the "rate of 4 per cent. p e i annum is given on .£2OO and under; at tin rate of 3 per cent, per annum on nun under £SOO ; and in the same proportion fo any shorter time on every complete £1 d e posited, provided that no interest be alljtff on more than £SOO. 2. Depositors t a the Post Oi<nee Saving! Banks have dl/act Government Security f ( the prompt repayment of their money. 3. A depositor in any one of the Tost Offic Banks can continue his deposits at any othe of such Banks, and can withdraw his mone at that Post Office Bank which is most con venient to him by giving notice of his re moval. 4. The strictest secresy is observed wii respect to the names of depositors in Pos < iffice Banks, and the amounts of their dt posits. 6. Money may be deposited by or on b< half of minors. Depositors over seven year of age are treated as persons of full age, bn minors under seven years of age cannot with draw their deposits until they have reaehe the age of seven. 7. Applications to the Chief Office in eac District on the business of Post Office SS ings Banks, md the replies sent thereto at free fron cnarge or postage.
