One of White's boats lfift for Inangahua last evening With full cargo and several passengers; and Craddock's boat started early this morning with a full complement. The Maori boat leaves to-night for the same destination*

The steamer Kennedy is reported to have left Nelson at midnight on Tuesday ; she is expected to bring a number of passengers for the forthcoming Greymouth races. The Murray left Nelson yesterday at noon for H'estpOrt by way of Motueka. The p.s. llesult, of which we gave some account yesterday, and which arrived from Auckland on the 11th inst.> is a well-built vessel, of G4 feet in length, 12 feet 6 inches beam, and 4 feet depth of hold. The frame is of pohutukawa timber, planked with kauri. She is propelled by a single highpressure geared engine, of 10-horse power nominal, working up to 18-horse power, if necessary, and will carry about 20 tons of cargo, on a draught of four feet.

We call attention to the sale of Mr McKee'a horses, at Reefton, by Mr Jno. Munro, which will take place at Gardner's Melbourne Hotel, on Friday next, March loth, at one o'clock. On Thursday last an application was lodged by several persons at the office of the Warden at Cobden for a quartz-mining iease for some land on the North Beach. The reef can be traced for about one hundred yards. Several claims are already pegged out along the line. At a church meeting held in Nevin's school-house, Reefton, it was decided that a. oewioo should \>c liald in tho aphool-room, every Sunday at three o'clock, Messrs Broad, Greenwood and Nevin acting as layveaders. It was also carried that a Sunday school should at once be opened. On Thursday last about twenty applications were made to the Warden at Reefton for over one hundred and twenty men's ground, many of Which were granted. Sixteen applications for quartz-mining leases at the same time met with tolerably fair results.

The Warden at Iteefton heard in two days last week some hundred and seventy applications, very few of which were unopposed. Great complaints are still being justly made on account of the want of Court accommodation both for the Warden and the public. The tramway between Black's Point and Iteofton, for which protection has been granted to Mr W. Courtney, will be commenced at once. Mr Courtney left Westport this morning to proceed to the field of his future operations. Mr Moss, the manager of the Energetic Company, af lieeftori, forwarded the result of the trial crushing, which consisted of a golden lump of over 43 ounces in weight. Among other things, we are indebted to tl- e " Inangahua Herald" for the following ; —A perfect stampede took place on Thursday, March 7, in consequence of three mens' ground in No 1 north, Baigent's, at Boatman's, being declared open to be taken up by holders of miners' rights. The ground was so declared by the Warden during the sitting of the Court, and with one accord some fifteen or twenty competitors made a rush from the Court-house. These were joined by several others in the vicinity of the Court; and altogether about thirty miners were to be seen running at top speed in nn exciting race of ten or twelve miles. The majority of those who left the Court made their exit at the door, but a miner named Deegan, who was completely hemmed in by the dense body of people at the upper end of the room, shot through one of the side windows, and thus got a good start. Gaffney, who opened up Gaffney's line, was the first on the ground, and Deogan second. The name of the lucky third we have been unable to learn.
