POST OFFICE SAVINGS' BANK

The New Zealand Gazette, of March aothj publishes the following regulations foi the banks as above newly established at Ch'ist church, Lyttelton, Kaiapoi, Timaru, Akraoi Hokitika, Greymouth, Wainiate, Westport and Charleston. 1. Interest at the rate of 4 per cent, per annum is given on £2OO and under ; at the 1 rate of 3 per cent, per annum on sums under £SOO ; and in the same proportion for any shorter time on every complete £1 deposited, provided that no intere=t be allowed on more than £SOO. 2.. Depositors ia the Post Office SavingU Banks have divjet Government Security fcr the prompt repay meal of their money. 3. A depositor in any one of the Post Office Banks can continue his deposits at any other of such Banks, and can withdraw his money at that Post Office Bank which is most con= venient to him by giving notice of his re* moval. 4. The strictest siecresy is observed with respect to the names of "depositors in Post Office Banks, and the amounts of their de ; posits. 6. Money may be deposited by or on bc» half of minors. Depositors over seven years of age are treated as persons of full age; but minors under seven years of age cannot withdraw their deposits until they have reachci the age of seven. 7.
