POST OFFICE SAVINGS' BANK

The New Zealand Gazette, of March 25tb publishes the following regulations foi the banks as above newly established at Chun church, Lyttelton, Kaiapoi, Timaru, Akrao» Hokitika, Greyniouth, Waimate, Westport and Charleston. 1. Interest at the rate of 4 per cent, pg annum is given on £2OO and under ; at the rate of 3 per cent, per annum on cumi under £SOO ; and in the same proportion foj any shorter time on every complete £1 deposited, provided that no interest be allowed on more than £SOO. 2. Depositors ta the Post Office Banks have direct Government Security fa the prompt repayment of their money. 3. A depositor in any one of the Post Office! Banks can continue his deposits at any othetl of such Banks, and can withdraw his monej at that Post Office Bank which is most con' venient to him by giving notice of his «. moval. 4. The strictest secresy is observed wit! respect to the names of depositors in Post Office Banks, and the amounts of their i? posits. 6. Money may be deposited by or on behalf of minors. Depositors over seven yean of age are treated as persons of full age, but minors under seven years of age cannot withdraw their deposits until they have reached the age of seven. 7.
