POST OFFICE SAVINGS' BANK
The New Zealand Gazette, of March 25th publishes the following regulations foi ths banks as above newly established at Christ church, Lyttelton, Kaiapoi, Timaru, Akrsun Hokitika, Greymoutli, Waimate, Westport and Charleston. 1. Interest at the rate of 4 per cent. p a annum is given on £2OO and under ; at the rate of 3 per cent, per annum on tunu under £SOO ; and in the same proportion 1 any shorter time on every complete £\ a posited, provided that no interest be alljvra on more than £SOO. 2. Depositors in the Post Office Savins! Banks have duvet Government Security fa the prompt repayment of their money. 3. A depositor in any one of the Post Offis Banks can continue his deposits at any off of such Banks, and can withdraw his monej at that Post Office Bank which' is most convenient to him by giving notice of his § moral! 4; The strictest seeresy is observed will respect to the names of depositors in Poii Office Banks, and the amounts of their & posits. 6. Money may be deposited bj' or on bt» half of minors. Depositors over seven yean of age are treated as persons of full age, but minors under seven years of age cannot with. draw their deposits until they have reacha the age of seven. 7. Applications to the Chief Office in eacl District on the business of Post Office Sat, ings Banks, and the replies sent thereto at! . fiee fro a cnarge or postage.
