LOSS OF THE PIONEER.
(To the Editor oftlie Weslport Times and Charleston Argus.) that you are at all times ready to do justice to all, will you be kind enough to insert the following. Certain persons from the Karamea beach circulated a report detrimental to my credit, that the goods which were put on board the Pioneer as freight for the Karamea wore sold by me at Anatori, and the money appropriated to my use. Now it happens that Mr. MolKt is in Westport (being compelled to come on here in the Charles Edward, the weather being too rough to get into the Anatori; and he can prove that the said goods are stored with him. I am sorry that I have not succeeded in getting a steamer to call in the Karamea for Mrs Wake. She will bo without tea and sugar, and in a day or two flour also ; and not a living soul near her. Several of the merchants of this town signed a memorial to Mr. Symons, the owner of the Kennedy, and sent it by Captain Whitwell; but no answer has been received, although Captain Whitwell promised to send me a telegram on Saturday last.
I am, &c„ REUBEN W.VITE Westport, Feb. 5, 1872.
