Government Annuities Office, Wellington, Ist Dec., 1870. \TOTIOE IS HEHEBY GIVEN that Government Insurance and Annuities 'Offices, under " The GovernAnnuities Act, 18G9," and "The New Zealand Government Insurance and Annuities Act, 1870," have been opened at the Post Offices at WESTI'OIIT CHARLESTON GRF.YMOUTH And all the principal Money Order Offices in tbe colony. The following advantages are secured by special provisions in the abovementioned Acts:— 1. Up to a certain amount, Assurance Policies bona fide effected by the Assured upon his ow nlife, and Endowment Policies, and Annuities purchased for the benefit of Wife or Childbex, are exempted from the operation of 'the -Bankruptcy Acts, and from seizure tinder legal process'. 2. Up to a cerlain amount, Married Women may effect Policies, and dispose of the money assured by wilfl, as if single ; and such Policies are free from the debts and control of their husbands! 3. Insurances may be effected for the benefit of wife and children, with power to apportion amount ; and such insurance is to be free from the claim of creditor?, to the extent of £2OOO. All persons wishing to obtain Life lusuiances, Endowments, Annuities immediate or deferred, or other .advantages under the Acts, will receive every information and the necessary forms on application at any of the above-named W. GISBOENE. NIVEESITY OE OTAGO. The following mentioned Classes will be opened in the University Building, Dur.edin, about the beginning of June, 1871: — 1. Classics. —Separate Classes for Junior and Senior Latin, Greek, and the English Language and Literature. Professor: G. 8. Sale, M.A., late of Rugby, and formerly Eellow and Classical Lecturer, Trinity College, Cambridge. 2. Mathematics. — Separate Classes for Junior and Senior Mathematics ; Junior and Senior Natural Philosophy. Professor: John Shand, M.A., formerly First Mathematical Master in the Eoyal Academy, Gosport, England; and the Edinburgh Academy. 3. Mental and Moral Philosophy. — Classes for Logic, Mental Science, Moral Philosophy, and Political Economy. Professor: D. Macgregor, M".A., M.8., late Eerguson Scholar, in Mental and Moral Science. 4. Natural Science. Classes for Chemistry, Mineralogy, &c, will be opened in May, 1872. Professor: J.'G. Black, M.A., D.Sc, Edinburgh University. The term will last for six months continuously, during the'entire course of which Instruction will be given to eacn class by the Professor, by means of Text Books, Lectures, and oral and written Examinations.
