Superintendent's Office, Nelsou, July 12, 1871. )UESUANT to the Provisions of " The Educ: tion Act, =1863," the Scpkiustendent directs it to be notified that the Annual RATE imposed by the said Act upon all Householders residing within the Educational Districts, will be LEVIED on TUESDAY, the Ist day of August; and that tho same will be received between the hours of Ten a.m. and Four p.m., namely— School-house, Stoke, by E. Dresswell Agricultural Hall, Waimea East, by William Steer School-house, Waimea West, by George Walker School-house, Riwaka, by E.. P. Pattio House of G. Taylor, Takaka, by G. Taylor. Police Station, Collingwood, by John Fisher Court-house, Cobden, by S. G. Rowley Court-house, Westport, by the Sergeant of Police, W. A. Kiely School-house, Motupiko, by George Flower School-house, Dovedale, by Job Best The aforesaid Act requires that " every Householder in each Educational District shall pay annually Twenty Shillings, and a further sum of Five Shillings for every child of such Householder between tire ages of five and fourteen years: Provided always, that no person shall be liable to pay for more thaii four children, nor for any child residing moro than three miles from any school established under this Act; nor for any child attending any school not established unJ~r this Act, in respect of whom such personß shall produce to the ColVctor a ccrtifioate signed by the teacher of such school, showing t'mt such «hi!d baa attended during the three months previous to the levying of the rate."
